As the third largest energy consumer in the world, India is crucial and poised to lead global energy transitions. However, in this journey India faces the distinctive challenge of balancing its clean energy targets with economic development and prosperity for its 1.4 billion citizens.
To shape the roadmap to a people centric transition knowledge and policy gaps need to be informed by rigorous research and energy and climate modelling studies.
The ACPET-NITI collaboration will aid the development of in-house energy and climate modelling capabilities to drive policy action and facilitate informed debates on India’s integrated energy policy (IIEP), issues, and challenges.
The ACPET-NITI collaboration will also support the development of new modules of IESS 2047, considering India’s net-zero aspiration.
To suggest policy direction to assist India’s transition to a sustainable, secure and low carbon growth. The partnership will specifically work to –
Provide support to NITI Aayog in developing state and national net-zero pathways
Study the impact of energy choices(net zero) on resource and mineral requirements
Study the impact of energy choices (net zero) on human health etc.
Study the impact of Mission Life on Net Zero pathway.
a) Provide knowledge support to NITI Aayog in preparing pathways for net-zero roadmaps both at the state and national level.
b) Study the impact of energy choices (net zero) on resources / critical minerals, human health etc.
c) Study the impact of Mission Life on the Net Zero pathway
Energy policy papers, public discourses etc to assist India’s transition to just, sustainable, secure, and
low-carbon growth. The partnership will specifically result in producing –
