Partnerships with Ashoka University

ACPET’s work is also in collaboration across disciplines and departments at Ashoka University.

  • With the Department of Chemistry, ACPET has partnered with Prof. Sourav Pal and Prof. Vidya Avasare on advancing green hydrogen catalysts.
  • Exploratory work on solid fuel blending is underway, focusing on pathways for sustainable thermal power generation.
  • With the Department of Computer Science, ACPET is engaging in joint research with Prof. Partha Pratim Das and Dr. Aalok Thakkar on computational approaches for climate, energy demand management, and meteorological aspects of demand management.
  • In partnership with the Department of Computer Applications, ACPET is developing AI/ML applications for People-Centric Energy Transitions, leveraging RAG and LLM structures.
  • With the School of Entrepreneurship, Prof. Priyank Narayan is collaborating with ACPET on innovation-driven sustainability solutions

These collaborations are complemented by academic contributions, including the co-design and delivery of the CL(AI)MATE course with InfoEdge Centre for Entrepreneurship and guest lectures for multiple cohorts across the university

Partnerships with Ashoka Centres

Beyond departments, ACPET also works closely with Ashoka’s Centres of excellence..

With the Centre for Social and Behaviour Change (CSBC), ACPET is engaged in knowledge and data exchange initiatives and is currently co-designing a Climate Behavioural Insights Unit (BIU) to be launched in 2025, alongside co-authoring op-eds on the role of behavioural science in galvanizing India’s energy transition.
In collaboration with AshokaX and the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF), ACPET is hosting EDF Fellows under the Climate Corps Fellowship, bringing applied climate expertise to the university and working to launch a ‘CL(AI)MATE’ course.
With the Centre for Health Analytics Research and Trends (CHART), ACPET has co-developed a research proposal for the Wellcome Trust on the health impacts of climate mitigation strategies in India.
Discussions with the ISAAC Centre to study the macroeconomic impacts of People-Centric Energy Transition and Net Zero pathways are underway, alongside the development of a Public Finance Capacity Building Programme aimed at equipping policymakers and practitioners with the tools necessary for sustainable financing and governance of energy and people-centric energy and climate transitions.
