Strategic Climate Action and Local Evidence for a Healthy India (SCALE-HI)

Having declared a 2070 net-zero target at COP26, India will benefit greatly from aligning its climate action strategies with public health goals. Cities have more committed ambitions to reach net-zero by 2050.

This project will fill evidence gaps and inform equitable, health-centered climate mitigation policies. Our analysis will occur at the national, city, and rural community levels, explicitly engaging diverse government and community stakeholders. The project aims to:

  • Evaluate health and socio-economic co-benefits of climate mitigation strategies in India at national and sub-national levels.
  • Produce evidence-based tools and recommendations for policymakers, practitioners, and communities.
